Job Summary

  • Design, draft, check, update and modify part and/or assembly layouts including 3D models
  • Design, draft, check, update and modify detailed part and/or complex assembly 3D models and 2D prints
  • Measure sample parts and assemblies and design 2D prints or layouts based on the data collected
  • Check prints and layouts made to sample parts and/or assemblies
  • Import, control and utilize various 2D and 3D CAD file formats
  • Design part and/or assembly change proposals
  • Assist the machining department with creating CNC tool paths
  • Communicate technical print and layout information to general shop employees
  • Maintain layout filing system

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2 years minimum experience in 3D para-solid modeling (parts and assemblies)
  • Extensive experience with the latest version of Solid Edge or Autodesk Inventor (Both preferred)
  • Experience in 3D CAD being proficient in modeling formed tubes and tube assemblies
  • Ability to communicate technical information to others
  • Ability to operate Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create and modify PDF files
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Windows
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Proficient in SAGE 100 as required
